EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS
Over the last few weeks the Trust has been working tirelessly to work out the best way to move forward with the roof appeal as Phase One works comes to an end.
After chatting with funders and trustees and the local community, the Trust has taken the decision to split the works down further, moving from one large final phase to three smaller phases. This means next year we will be approaching the Heritage Fund for £1million to support a programme of community activity and restoration on the north side. As part of this project we hope to develop the skills of our volunteer base in conservation and collections management, as well as discovering how we can use our collections within the wider community. This will develop the connections that we have been working to make over the last two years as part of a Heritage Fund Resilient Heritage Project. As with all Heritage Fund projects we will need to raise some match funding to support our application. This figure sits at around £100,000 so we are once again asking for your support to help us reach this target!
Whatever you can donate will go towards making sure the breath taking Norman Abbey stands tall for the local community for another 950 years.
